How to Repair and Rejuvenate Nails

Are your nails looking a little bit tired this summer from all the fun? Take a break and learn how you can pamper your nails so they look their best.

Moisturize

As mentioned many times before, keeping your nails moist allows them to be pliable and healthy, preventing brittleness or cracking. However, too much moisture is not good either. To maintain a reasonable level, consider using cuticle oil or cream to keep your nails hydrated. You can use something as simple as a clear coat to create a barrier and prevent too much water from infiltrating. When considering nail polish remover options, opt for a non-acetone remover. They are less drying on your nails.

Protect your nails

Remember to protect your nails while they are recovering. Wear gloves when doing housework like gardening or cleaning. Natural materials and harsh cleaning products can harm your nails. Nails are not tools, so don’t use them in place of tools.

Nutrients

Biotin is a Vitamin B supplement associated with strengthening your hair and nails. Foods high in biotin, like liver, cooked eggs, avocados, and whole grains, can help your nails if they are brittle and weak. Many multivitamins also contain biotin that can help with the overall health of your body, not just your nails. A popular favorite is Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin, and Nails.
